The Essential Job Functions 

  • Answer calls from excavators, members, and others calling into the 8-1-1 system. 
  • Identify caller needs and handle as appropriate, which may require transferring calls to Team Leaders or other departments as necessary. 
  • Maintain a professional phone manner at all times. 
  • Enters locate requests into a computerized ticket management and mapping system to accurately and efficiently process tickets. 
  • Obtain detailed information from callers and ask questions to clarify vague information to correctly identify excavation sites on maps. 
  • Review internet ticket locate requests and contact excavators as needed. 
  • Flexibility to work overtime including evening and weekends as necessary. 
  • Perform other work as assigned.
