Packetcraft (www.packetcraft.com) is a global provider of Bluetooth Low Energy, Low Energy Audio, and 802.15.4 embedded software stacks. Join our elite software team as our Senior Embedded DevOps engineer. We are growing, and we are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to help keep continuous integration and deployment pipelines humming in our fast-moving start-up environment.

      The right candidate will be knowledgeable, creative, collaborative, adaptable, and looking for ways to improve our workflows. Note that we are building and deploying embedded software. This is not a DevOps position for building and deploying web or mobile applications.

      Packetcraft develops new and emerging wireless stacks for products including wireless  headphones, hearing aids,  automated lighting, wireless sensors, medical, industrial automation, entertainment, automotive, and other IoT industries.  Our software is deployed in millions of devices globally.       This position is available for immediate full-time employment in the Indianapolis area of Fishers, Indiana.

    Responsibilities and Duties

      • Take ownership of our CI/CD pipelines for embedded software development, testing, and deployment
      • Build, improve, and maintain continuous integration pipelines for a Git-based, embedded software development and automated testing environment
      • Create and maintain product deployment pipelines for packaging and releasing software to our customers
      • Support our firmware and software developers who depend on continuous integration and its tools
      • Build active dashboards and report status on the availability of pipelines
      • Work in a disciplined, collaborative, Agile software development environment
      • Champion operational efficiency improvements in our software development workflow 


      Qualification and Skills

      • BS degree in computer-related field of study or equivalent experience
      • 5 years of relevant industry work experience as a DevOps engineer or software developer
      • Expert knowledge of Python programming and Linux shell programming, e.g. Bash scripting, in Linux and Windows environments
      • Expert knowledge of Git
      • Familiarity with deployment using YAML-based enterprise Git systems, such as Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD Pipelines, or Azure DevOps Pipelines is preferred
      • Use of local runners that execute and test embedded code on local machines in YAML-based enterprise Git systems is helpful
      • Alternatively, familiarity and experience with one or more traditional build management tools is helpful, for example Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.
      • Experience in the use of Docker or other container solutions is helpful
      • Experience working with Makefiles, cross-compilers, static analysis tools is helpful
      • Good communication skills, proficient at speaking and writing English
      • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
