Job Summary:
The BOSS AI Senior Build Engineer will support the Platform Engineering team with overseeing all system builds and release efforts for the BOSS platform and supporting efforts and entities. The candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities related to release engineering, software development, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and cloud provider technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an expert level understanding of the BOSS platform infrastructure architecture supporting the continued maturation of the BOSS product stack with regard to the building, packaging, and releasing of components across the entire stack.
- Coordinate within the Platform Engineering team in the creation of standardized build architectures.
- Maintain and enhance source code and configuration management systems.
- Build, enhance, and recommend deployment pipelines for efficient code release to development, staging, and production environments.
- Assist the platform engineering and development teams in troubleshooting failed pipelines.
- Implement best practices for dependency management and keeping up to date with upstream security fixes.
- Provide deployment support during regular and scheduled maintenance windows.
- Ensure that issues and solutions are fully documented and communicated internally for product improvement and future product support requests.
- Assist in the lead development of containerization to support cloud vendor deployments using Kubernetes in AWS, GCP, Tanzu, etc.
- Assist/Lead customer design and deployments of both the BOSS platform and customer deployments.
- Present enhancement suggestions to the Principal Platform Engineer for all BOSS infrastructure/code.
Travel Requirements:
- Light travel required on an as needed basis.
Essential Qualifications
- 10+ years of Release / Build Engineering or Software Development experience.
- 2+ years of cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) engineering experience.
- Strong experience with build systems and CI/CD pipelines in tools, such as GitLab, GitHub, and Jenkins.
- Proficient in Python and JavaScript scripting languages.
- Strong understanding of version control systems.
- Proficient in containerization and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of build, release, and deployment process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Java, C#, and .NET would be beneficial.
- Proficient in Kubernetes deployment, orchestration, and automation.
- Strong experience in Helm Chart development.
Minimum Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
