Blattner Technologies is searching for an experienced finance professional to join the team. In the role of a Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as a key partner in the operations and growth of Blattner Technologies. The role will include assembling a finance team and the development and implementation of efficient and compliant financial practices and processes. 


To succeed in the CFO position, a candidate must have vast experience in building finance processes, strategies, and teams, in addition to supporting investment-related activities, to include mergers and acquisitions. Blattner Technologies is in a rapid growth phase. For this reason, flexibility, analytical skills, and the ability to adjust tactical activities to align with evolving business strategies is a must.

In this role your key duties will include: 


Strategy, Planning and Management 

 

      • Create and establish budgets and financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion. 
      • Assess and evaluate the organization’s financial performance and its alignment with short-term and long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. 
      • Communicate, engage, support, and interact with the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team. 
      • Engage extended financial support teams, including consultants, accountants, auditors, investors, and subsidiary/investment finance teams. 
      • Recruit, interview, and hire finance, accounting, and payroll staff, as required and within approval. 
      • Implement policies, procedures, and processes aligned with industry best practices and with Executive Leadership Team approval. 
      • Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information.  
      • Evaluate departments and provide recommendations for the automation of processes to increase work efficiency. 

 

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting 

 

      • Identify, develop, and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches, and/or new service offerings. 
      • Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports, including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast versus budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division. 
      • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations. 
      • Maintain monthly and annual operating budget. 
      • Implement software and tools for budgeting and forecasting. 
      • Implement and enhance financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems. 
      • Provide support and strategic alignment for accounting activities executed by third-party partners for general accounting, general ledger, etc. 
      • Supervise the accounting team to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software.  
      • Review and ensure proper application of internal controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliance, and financial procedures. 
      • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns. 
      • Collaborate with Personnel Operations to ensure appropriate legal compliance. 
      • Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies. 
      • Review all month-end closing activities, including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation. 
      • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
      • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits. 

 

Financial Management 

 

      • Manage cash flow planning process and ensure availability of funds. 
      • Oversee cash, investments, and asset management area. 
      • Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks. 
      • Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners. 
      • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets. 

 

Financial Relations and Policies 

 

      • Engage finance committee and/or Board of Directors to develop short-term and long-term plans, projections, and budgets. 
      • Serve as Blattner Technologies representative to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials. 
      • Remain current on audit best practices in addition to state, federal, and local laws regarding company operations. 

 

Cash Management 

      • Oversee weekly cash management and AP department, approve large payables, sign checks, authorize large wires, and ACHs. 
      • Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance related to the collection process. 

 

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Position Requirements 

 

      • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance; MBA preferred. 
      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. 
      • Background in growing organizations and investments and executing mergers and acquisitions. 
      • Four (4) years of related CFO experience required. 
      • Ten (10+) years total accounting or finance experience preferred. 
      • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance and SEC reporting. 
      • Previous experience in coordinating with I.T. staff to manage and/or upgrade accounting systems. 
      • Systems implementation experience strongly preferred. 
      • “Hands On” accounting/ERP systems experience: QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Fathom Reporting, Dynamics, NetSuite experience preferred. 
      • Exceptional communication and presentation skills. 
      • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence. 
      • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. 
      • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
