Job Summary:
Blattner Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Database Architect to lead the design and implementation of our product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in various database technologies, hands-on experience, and extensive technical documentation skills. Availability during US business hours and relevant technical certifications are required. Candidates must have direct customer-facing experience, consultative acumen, and cloud experience. This is an urgent hiring need.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Design and Implementation

• Lead the design and implementation of product development.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, structures, and architectures.
• Design and implement both relational and non-relational databases, including structured and unstructured data types.

Collaboration and Integration

• Collaborate with database administrators, data engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored database solutions.

Optimization and Performance

• Ensure database scalability, security, and performance optimization.
• Conduct regular code and architecture reviews to maintain high standards.
• Develop and enforce database development standards and best practices.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team.
• Stay updated with emerging database technologies and integrate them into the architecture as needed.

Strategic Planning and Documentation

• Participate in strategic planning to align database architecture with business goals.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation for all database systems and processes.

Travel

• Travel may include business meetings and customer meetings.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience in database architecture and design.

Technical Skills

• Extensive knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, vector databases, MongoDB, SAP, and other modern database technologies.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficient in designing and managing structured and unstructured data types.
• Strong understanding of database structures, schemas, and architectures.

Soft Skills

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven experience working with a diverse, globally dispersed technical and management team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant technical certifications in database technologies.
• Direct customer-facing experience.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions.
• Consultative acumen.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Certification in relevant database technologies.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Compensation Range: $110,000-$130,000
