About the Opportunity

 

Meadowhawk Biolabs is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to serve as a Paid Laboratory Intern within the Operations Department of Meadowhawk Biolabs, Inc. at our Hayward, CA location.  This position provides applicants a great opportunity to gain initial Laboratory and Vivarium technical operational experience and exposure to the exciting Life Sciences industry.  Our ideal candidate is driven, curious, and hardworking with a genuine interest in learning and working in a fast paced, collaborative team environment.  Ideally, we are seeking applicants for a part-time, one year basis for this position and schedules have flexibility within reasonableness.

 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Working under close direction, and in compliance with defined procedures, perform a wide variety of technical laboratory operational tasks and activities, including but not limited to:

Study material and samples receipt, storage management and disposition;

·        Consumables receipt, storage, distribution and inventory management;

·        Biological and chemical waste collection and storage;

·        Labware cleaning and treatments as appropriate;

·        Basic chemical solution preparations;

·        Maintain organization of laboratory and vivarium operational areas;

·        Other clearly defined duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

 

High school graduation or equivalent and pursuing a post-secondary degree in the sciences.   No prior laboratory experience required.  Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered as substitution for the specific criteria outlined above.

 

Skills:

 

·        Highly organized and detail-oriented

·        Adapts readily, willingly, and effectively to changes in assignments and priorities

·        Able to multitask and independently manage time to maximize productivity

·        Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

·        Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
