The Operations Manager supports the school by overseeing various operations that are integral to the functioning of the school and has the primary responsibility for the functioning of back-office school operations, to include: technology, transportation, compliance, and dining services/school nutrition.


Main responsibilities include:

  • Technology – Management of the school’s technology systems and databases. Coordinate all technology–related projects; assist with e-Rate program details in order to maximize reimbursement funds available to school. Coordinate training of staff on technology usage. Manage migration from legacy software products through to rollout of new products. Manage and coordinate all daily technology needs in collaboration with third party vendor.
  • Facilities –Management of school facilities to ensure the smooth functioning of the physical operations of the building and grounds, including management of the school safety plan, other personnel and outsourced services (security, cleaning, and others as needed).
  • School Nutrition –Management to ensure safe and efficient delivery of all foods served or sold in the school. Liaison with food vendors. Oversight of School Nutrition for USDA and NSLP purposes; work to ensure that USDA and NSLP requirements relating to free and reduced breakfast/lunch are met. Work with fiscal officer or his designees for monthly free/reduced reporting; oversight of free/reduced for EMIS.
  • School Compliance & Policies –Ensure compliance with all public, charter school laws, ODE requirements, and sponsor guidelines. Oversee and ensure compliance with EpiCenter and collaborate regularly with all parties to ensure compliance deadlines are met. Regularly review and recommend policy adjustments and/or additions. Ensure compliance with all state and sponsor policy requirements, including public meeting requirements in the building such as posting meeting information and maintaining logbooks of minutes and policies.
  • Transportation – Track and maintain accurate rosters for transportation. Share student information with districts timely and notify supervisor of issues. Work collaboratively with districts to ensure quality transportation options are available to MPA students. Arrange for bus services and best negotiated rates when necessary to take students off the grounds for trips and/or activities. Work with district transportation departments to assure they have information on school open/closing dates and provide information on students eligible to receive transportation services or reimbursements
  • Finance & HR – Manage the staff members responsible for internal human resources and accounting functions in collaboration with fiscal officer team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in school building operations.
  • Superior problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic in a diverse, educational community setting.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and multiple priorities.
  • Strong proficiency in using multiple software programs, including general MS Office and Google platform programs and admissions database systems.
  • Must pass federal, state and local background checks, as required by state.
