We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth through identifying new sales leads, developing business relationships, and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Platform Sales & Commerce.

This role is based out of our corporate headquarters office in Boston. We are a flexible hybrid environment with 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the office.  Please note that we are only accepting candidates that reside in the greater Boston area.

How you will Contribute

 

  • Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client's business needs.

  • Develop relationships with prospective clients 

  • Build an accurate sales pipeline via calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions

  • Utilize knowledge of market trends and sales techniques to present innovative ideas and solutions to potential clients

  • Collaborate with other members of the Sales team to close business

  • Work closely with others on the sales team to manage the life cycle of a client and accurately track customer interactions, information, and updates in Hubspot.

  • Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects

  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer

  • Initiating contact with new leads without needing external prompts.

  • Maintaining a high volume of cold calls each day, viewing rejection as a learning opportunity.

 

What you Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 

  • 1-2 years' prospecting experience identifying and qualifying sales opportunities while articulating product value propositions via phone and email

  • Hunter mentality and driven to find key stakeholders and new business opportunities

  • Competitive nature and confident demeanor- we want someone who is not afraid to speak with high level customers

  • Passion for contributing to the growth and overall success of the business

  • Track record of being a high achiever in past organizations (school, past work experience, volunteering, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • High emotional intelligence to build rapport and maintain professionalism during conflicts.

  • Strong background in life sciences and technology 

  • Excellent account management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HubSpot
