Summary 

DC Green Bank is looking for a driven intern with work or academic experience in finance, economics, or consulting and/or specific sector expertise or passion in clean energy or sustainable infrastructure.   The intern will support DCGB’s commercial lending team in achieving the goal of providing capital to projects that achieve DCGB’s mission of growing the District’s clean economy.

 

 

Responsibilities 

We aim to provide a comprehensive experience that will deepen your exposure to climate finance from a green bank lens, with the following example responsibilities:  

 

  • Audit, redesign and/or implementation of business process management tools in support of DCGB’s commercial lending activities.
  • Support development and refinement of key credit and risk underwriting templates and scorecards.
  • Aid the commercial lending team in preparing approval packages and analyzing financial information.
  • Track and report upon business development opportunities.
  • Make meaningful contributions to DCGB’s ability to collect and report upon climate impact data.
  • Take on additional tasks or projects, as requested.
  • Collaborate with other DCGB interns on designated projects.
  • Champion an environment that supports equity, access, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Enrollment in graduate (preferred) or Bachelor degree program (economics, finance, environmental / energy policy, or related field) 
  • Strong analytical skills with some exposure to financial modeling 
  • Passion for sustainability and interest in climate finance 
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to ask questions to clarify assignments 
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills 
  • Candidates should have access to a computer and regular access to the Internet 
  • Commitment to the mission and core values of DC Green Bank 
  • Must be eligible to legally work in the United States for the duration of the internship.

 

Position Details 

Status: Part-time intern from mid-late May to September 2024, up to 20 hours/week. Non-exempt.

Location: Requirement of 3 workdays a week in the office therefore must be able to commute to the office located in Washington, D.C.

Preference will be given to residents of Washington, D.C. and students attending colleges and universities located in DC.  

Compensation: $20.75/hour
