DC Green Bank is seeking a Communications & Outreach Manager who will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communications and community outreach initiatives. This includes local and national media engagement, marketing, and public relations efforts in support of the DC Green Bank mission.
The Manager will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing the Bank’s communications plans. Responsibilities include managing the Bank’s media engagement and social media content, developing reports, visual and graphic design, and video elements to educate our constituencies on our products, services, community, and climate impact. The Manager will also lead the development and execution of all community engagement and outreach strategies and events.
Responsibilities:
Communications & Public Relations:
- In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, develop an annual communications plan for the organization to align with its strategic goals.
- Create and produce DCGB’s newsletters, press kits, press releases, blog posts, and annual reports.
- Manage and build out DCGB contact database and CRM to maximize ability to segment and reach key audiences.
- Develop a multi-platform communications, marketing, and public relations strategy, including regular message calendars.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and national media outlets.
Marketing & Social Media:
- Create unique and engaging visual design and video content to educate our constituencies on our products, services, mission, partners, and impact. This requires a high level of proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, video editing software, as well as strong writing and editing skills.
- Manage DCGB social media accounts and website content.
- Oversee the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's brand.
Engagement & Outreach Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of all community engagement and outreach strategies and events.
- Develop and implement a strategic outreach plan by identifying target audiences within the sustainable finance community.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience required.
- Additionally, a 4-year degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, or Journalism preferred, or 4 years of additional equivalent experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; a demonstrated ability to be extremely organized, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- High level of proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, WordPress, and video editing software.
- The ideal candidate has a strong track record of leading successful external communications strategies, as well as direct engagement with local and national press outlets, and is able to translate DC Green Bank content into public facing materials that resonate with diverse constituencies and helps the organization build its brand and visibility.
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision. Ability to work in collaborative space when necessary.
Position Details:
- Status: Full-time, exempt
- Location: Washington, D.C.
- Salary: $120,000-$140,000
- Hybrid Work Schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH – subject to change in the future.
- DCGB policies include a preference for hiring District residents, or individuals who become District residents within 180 days of their becoming an employee of DCGB.
