People & Operations Manager
Summary
DC Green Bank seeks a People & Operations Manager to help continue to build this cutting-edge, mission-driven organization. The People & Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the organization’s operational work efficiency, access to resources, and people success. It’s their job to work with the team and ensure they work efficiently within and across departments. The job includes managing planning, human resources, organizational effectiveness, and administrative programs. The People & Operations Manager works with the COO to manage the development, implementation, and maximization of internal systems and policies that support the DC Green Bank’s mission and ensure its long-term productivity and success.
Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Manage internal recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, offboarding, exit interviews, payroll, benefits, training, development, and evaluations; manage all aspects of the HR database, TriNet.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and policies and procedures manual, making innovative recommendations for best and forward practices for the organization.
- Develop new hire and continuing training programs across various departments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal workforce requirements.
Promote a culture of equal access and inclusive prosperity within the organization.
Operations & Administrative Management
- As a partner to the COO, support the administration, schedule, expenses, correspondence, and relationships, while arranging complex projects and details.
- Create annual operations timeline to optimize work efficiencies and capture major process development techniques; institute best practices for general business operations.
- Assist in securing permanent office space and oversee the office opening and maintenance; maintain office facility procedures and contracts.
- Support the development of the Clean Futures Lab, a clean energy incubator program.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has 2 - 5 years of proven experience in Human Resources and Operations. Candidates should be able to work on multiple projects, manage simple and complex human resources issues, be a go-to resource for planning, and be administratively strong. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (high school diploma required) with experience in human resources and operations
- HR certification strongly preferred
- Experience working in a human resources generalist, assistant, or support role, assisting multiple departments
- Ability to quickly learn and adjust to a growing organization
- Strong administrative skills, with ability to manage multiple projects, supporting an organizational leader
- Effective communication
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Position Details
- Status: Full-time
- Location: Washington, DC; Hybrid work environment, currently two (2) days in the office and three (3) days remote
- Maximum Salary: $90,000/annually
- Strong preference is given to candidates who reside in Washington, DC or commit to relocating to Washington, DC within 6 months of employment. This may be a term of employment.
