This position will support the commercial organization providing information analysis utilizing internal and external data sources, including but not limited to primary and secondary market research as well as claims and sales data, etc. to deliver business insights in conjunction with the Sales, Marketing and the Key Account teams to achieve departmental and company objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:

Identify innovative and efficient business models that can accelerate market penetration and enhance business opportunities within the US Market

Direct and manage market research initiatives for the commercial business in order to evaluate new and emerging channel strategies and customer insights

Develop business strategies related to data utilization and information management in conjunction with commercial business

Deliver key commercial insight and recommendations through analysis and synthesis of multiple data sources

Provide analytics and strategic commercial insight to support market segmentation, sales force effectiveness, and targeting strategies

Partner with commercial leadership to create and manage KPIs according to company objectives and global strategy

Build and maintain forecast model to support Sales & Operation Planning team

Prepare presentations for Executive Leadership team to leverage key commercial insight for global commercialization

Select and manage key tools and systems to support analytical efforts

Act as subject matter expert and analytical adviser to research, analyze and provide market insight to internal teams

Provide sales analysis to Sales Management and Marketing Department to assist in channel understanding and business decisions

Support the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred with an undergraduate degree in science or business

  • Ten years experience across commercial functions in the healthcare industry (e.g., finance, commercial management, commercial strategy/operations, business development)

  • Experienced and adept as a strategic adviser

  • Ophthalmology market experience a plus

  • Proven ability to grasps key issues quickly, understands the "big picture" and links market insights to larger issues

  • Experience in market research and strategic planning; specifically, shaping and/or conducting primary market research, use of secondary data, and integration of information across multiple sources to provide business insight

  • Experience developing and using Excel-based models and conducting quantitative analysis; experience with SAS-based analysis preferred

  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

  • Proven ability to establish collaborative working relationships; team-oriented, including the ability to work independently
