The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver who is excited by the opportunity to build a marketing program and function from the ground up. This position is expected to provide high level strategic thinking while simultaneously executing key deliverables. The main objective of this position is to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that includes customer segmentation, market awareness, thought leader strategy, physician acquisition and retention to support the launch of Clearside’s first product into Uveitis Macular Edema.


MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:

Own all aspect of product marketing including strategy, vendor management, staffing plans, hiring, and budget

Develop product positioning and key messages for each segment

Interpret all market research and available industry data to support all launch planning and material development

Provide marketing input and support in product lifecycle management

Develop a Marketing Plan with short-term tactical goals and long-term strategies designed to successfully launch CLS-TA and drive revenue growth

Own the customer experience, including education and training on our innovative injection procedure

Collaborate with sales function to support sales force training, effectiveness and optimization of messaging and materials

Participate in access and reimbursement planning efforts, including pricing, contracting, distribution, payer engagement, key accounts, and market segmentation

Collaborate with medical affairs, as appropriate, to ensure seamless communication and customer interactions with Clearside

Accountable for all key marketing activities and deliverables to include:
Development of conference attendance plan and lead execution of all major conferences;
Media and digital strategy;
Key opinion leader development and management;
Development of all product marketing materials and product website;
Development of sales aids and support sales training material development;

Support the organization in maintaining an environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration and teamwork.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
5-7 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, in marketing or product management positions
BA/BS with relevant experience and MBA preferred
Marketing experience within ophthalmology preferred
Proven track record of successfully building and leading a marketing function
