Position Overview

We are looking for a Director of Registrar Services strategic leader for oversight and manage our prestigious academic institutions, Bay State College (Boston, MA) and NewSchool of Architecture & Design (San Diego, CA), registration remotely. You will be responsible for the student records management, enforcement, and interpretations of both institutions' policies and procedures. To ensure we remain compliant with the federal regulations of the academic standards, enrollment, and student academic records. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to supporting student learning, success, and persistence in a college/conservatory atmosphere through thoughtful innovation, system literacy, data stewardship, and collaboration. Preferably, the candidate will have had experience working with a higher education community. Top candidates will also have an affinity for excellent student-oriented service and a professional demeanor. The Director of Registrar Services will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities 
  • Demonstrated leadership, vision, and analytical skills to ensure exceptional student services while upholding the academic policies and regulations of the College and safeguarding the integrity and security of all academic records.
  • Organize, oversee, and participate in the course registration process each semester, including the development of class schedules, academic advising activities, and degree auditing.
  • Revise existing to evaluate and implement new policies and procedures to align both institutions and regulations.
  • Enforce, interpret, and applies Federal and State mandated guidelines for registration and record processes.
  • Oversee records are updated with new grades, attendance, transcripts, etc. to remain compliant.
  • Responsible for all auditing and reporting in order to meet the deadline.
  • Assess and evaluate the procedures for modification to ensure the processes aligned both institutions.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to deliver a high level and excellent student-oriented service.
  • Ensure training is set up for new staff at the Registrar's office to use software related to records administration.
  • Develop and manage department budgets to perform periodic costs and productivity analyses.
  • Experience in multi-campus/site operations is a plus.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years’ experience or equivalent including 5 years managerial experience in the higher education industry.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems, Campus Nexus, CampusVue, and other relevant systems.
  • Knowledge of the Registrar’s office operations and processes.
  • Principles and practices in registration, records maintenance, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate abilities to be a proactive leader at dynamic institutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and written skills.
  • Bilingual language is a plus. 


Working Conditions

  • Supervision is required.
  • Remote with varying work times to be responsive to clients in the US.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule.
  • May require travel to other locations occasionally.
