Job Summary

Veuu seeks a highly organized and analytical Healthcare/Compliance Attorney to support the compliance environment between the company, its clients (both providers and payers), and any relevant governmental or regulatory agencies. This candidate will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work with the operations team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice in a broad range of regulatory matters, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, licensure and credentialing, and risk management.
  • Analyze complex healthcare laws and regulations and provide guidance to management to implement and maintain a strong compliance environment. 
  • Support contract implementation and on-going operational compliance, including proactive risk identification and mitigation.
  • Advise on relevant federal and state laws, including but not limited to utilization management, CMS regulations, anti-kickback laws and the False Claims At.
  • Research the impact of proposed and new rules, regulations, and legislation and advise the company’s executive team on the appropriate response. 
  • Assist with various projects and initiatives to meet regulatory goals and help the company address any compliance risks. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders by providing exceptional client service and communication.  

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar
  • 3+ years of experience with a law firm or in-house legal department with a focus on the healthcare environment including regulatory and compliance counseling
  • Knowledge of healthcare law, including anti-kickback laws, the False Claims Act, and other healthcare fraud and abuse laws
  • Well-developed written and verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
