The Director of Finance will be responsible for all operational finances including forecasting, modeling, cash management, and oversight of accounting including AR/AP,bookkeeping, and tax strategy. Working at the intersection of finance, accounting and data, our Director of Finance will empower sound decision-making throughout the company.

What you'll do:

  • As the company rapidly scales, build and lead a world-class, well-organized finance function, including accounting, financial operations, and strategic finance

  • Build and maintain financial models that provide critical business intelligence and actionable financial insights

  • Partner with the CEO on strategic initiatives including fundraising, product expansion, investor meetings and new partnerships

  • In partnership with the CEO, leadership and department heads, drive annual and periodic budgeting and planning processes, including preparation, review and analysis, assigning department specific budgets, and tracking monthly/quarterly actuals vs. budget

  • Supervise the full revenue cycle process, from billing and collections to revenue recognition, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting standards

  • Deliver clear and concise reports and presentations for different stakeholders, including the board, senior leadership team, investors and other strategic/financial partners

  • Leverage and evolve existing organization tools and systems to establish and report on metrics used to drive the business to greater efficiency

  • Partner with Bookkeepers on monthly close process, financial reporting, and preparation of financial statements

  • Identify and onboard the company’s financial tools and technologies

  • Build and maintain accounting policies and financial controls

 

Your Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 10+ years experience in finance and accounting functions, including a successful track record rapidly scaling early stage businesses

  • 2+ years experience managing and building a team in a high-growth business

  • Strong financial and accounting acumen thorough understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis 

  • Solid understanding of P&L, profitability analysis, and a strong working knowledge of accounting and the revenue cycle 

  • Demonstrated skill in synthesizing data and presenting conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders
