Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Operate / Maintain various DoD and commercial satellite communications systems.
  • Operate / Maintain modems and baseband equipment associated with satellite communications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electronic equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair communications system faults
  • Prepare written reports as required
  • Utilize electronic test equipment to troubleshoot serial and IP circuits
  • Perform COMSEC duties as required
  • Escort visitors as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Military satellite communications SHF and/or EHF operator course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education/military experience as required.
  • 3 years’ experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving history.
  • Familiar with DoD satellite communications operations.
  • Be able to troubleshoot electronic equipment.
  • Familiar with basic computer network operations.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to climb and work at various heights on antenna structures.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and small spaces.
  • Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work autonomously with little supervision.
  • Good oral & written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Navy CMS program preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Navy 3M program preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Must be a United States citizen with an active Secret Clearnce with the US Government.
