Satellite Communications Telecom Operator Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities and Duties:

Operate / Maintain various DoD and commercial satellite communications systems.
Operate / Maintain modems and baseband equipment associated with satellite communications.
Perform preventive maintenance on electronic equipment
Troubleshoot and repair communications system faults
Prepare written reports as required
Utilize electronic test equipment to troubleshoot serial and IP circuits
Perform COMSEC duties as required
Escort visitors as required.
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Military satellite communications SHF and/or EHF operator course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education/military experience as required.
3 years’ experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving history.
Familiar with DoD satellite communications operations.
Be able to troubleshoot electronic equipment.
Familiar with basic computer network operations.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to climb and work at various heights on antenna structures.
Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and small spaces.
Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to work autonomously with little supervision.
Good oral & written communication skills.
Knowledge of U.S. Navy CMS program preferred.
Knowledge of U.S. Navy 3M program preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Must be a United States citizen with an active Secret Clearnce with the US Government.
