NexTech Solutions is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-level IT systems. The Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with the Automation Engineer to design, implement, and support solutions for critical services like Remedy, Office 365, Windows Server, and Linux, among other platforms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong background in enterprise architecture, and is capable of adapting to new technologies in a fast-paced environment. Position is Hybrid work location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure, with a focus on scalability, security, and reliability.
- Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to integrate automation workflows into core services, enhancing overall system performance and manageability.
- Build and validate enterprise service designs for core services, ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable solutions tailored to meet organizational requirements.
- Configure, support, and optimize systems across multiple platforms, including Windows Server, Linux, and cloud environments.
- Oversee the deployment and management of critical services, ensuring high availability and accessibility for end users.
- Assist in the design and enforcement of security protocols across all systems, including user access and data protection.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain clear records and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Work with APIs and system integrations to ensure seamless functionality across multiple enterprise applications.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may involve leading project-based tasks and coordinating with other engineers and junior staff.
Core Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).
- 4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role, working with enterprise-level infrastructure.
- Strong experience in managing and configuring Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Proficiency with virtualization platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly in hybrid or multi-cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications, especially Remedy and Office 365, including management and integration tasks.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Knowledge of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs) and security practices.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to system optimization.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and implement new tools effectively.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible Tower, Jenkins) is a plus.
- Experience with API integrations and RESTful services is beneficial.
- Existing DoD Security Clearance is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) is desirable.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools to facilitate collaboration and automation.
