Position Title: Venue Driver

Compensation: $15.25 per hour; scheduled hours per week vary based on availability and event schedules
Schedule: Tuesday – Sunday Evening Shifts 4:30pm-11:30pm;
Saturday and Sunday Day Shifts 10:30am-4:30pm
Location: On-Site in the Music Hall at Fair Park. No remote work anticipated.

Position Summary:
This part-time position welcomes and assists patrons in getting from the parking lot to the venue when attending events at the Music Hall at Fair Park. These events include approximately 15 eight-performance weeks of Broadway programming plus concerts, comedy, dance, and dozens of other special events throughout the year.
While overseen by the Event Manager, this role will be cross trained in health, safety, and security procedures in addition to their core customer service training and responsibilities. The driver will ensure that all patrons have a safe and positive experience during all interactions between themselves and the patrons. This individual will remind patrons of the venue prohibited items policy, as well as other safety and security measures in place. They will also be available to effectively and politely assist those patrons who may need additional assistance.
This position requires regular on-site work in and around the Music Hall at Fair Park based on event schedules. No remote work is anticipated in this role. Familiarity with Fair Park and its surrounding neighborhoods is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Greet patrons in a friendly manner and offer assistance
· Communicate with guests during transport as to Fair Park highlights, event details, and upcoming Music Hall programming
· Escort patrons and staff to their destination via passenger van and electric carts
· Use of a radio for communication and emergency purposes
· Assist guests with varying needs, including wheelchair or mobility assistance
· Observe all workplace safety laws/guidelines
· Be responsible for keeping vehicles clean, presentable, and damage-free at all times
· Conduct vehicle inspections for safety, damage, proper function, and misplaced items
· Clean and dry patron seating areas and other portions of the vehicle between passenger trips as necessary
Requirements
- Flexible scheduling availability to work nights, weekends and occasional holidays
- Must work at least 20% (or about 3 shows per 2-week engagement) of all scheduled events
- Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a valid class C Texas State Driver’s License
- Have previous experience transporting guests in a motor vehicle
- Subject to a driving record review from the past 12 months
- Availability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and occasionally holidays
- Have reliable means of transportation to and from the Music Hall
- Willingness to work in outdoor conditions with differing lighting conditions and all types of weather
- Familiarity with walkie-talkie/radio technology and etiquette
- Able to assist people in and out of vehicles, including but not limited to assisting with mobility devices
- Eager to interact with and assist patrons and staff
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in scheduling and directed tasks
- A professional and courteous manner and communication in dealing with internal and external guests
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Service-oriented and flexible in positions and tasks assigned
- Familiarity with and consistent access to basic computer hardware and software including ability to use a laptop and smartphone/tablet, checking email/workplace messaging/scheduling software, etc.
- Complete customary and routine customer service and other training as assigned
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual
- Customer service experience
- Love of theatre/live events
