Compensation: $80,000 to $105,000 annual salary paid twice monthlyHealth, dental, vision and retirement plans with generous employer contributions; 13 paid holidays and 20 Paid Time Off (PTO) days each year

Schedule:           Standard weekday hours adjusted for regular weeknight and weekend event work

Location:            Flex: limited remote work and remainder in the Music Hall at Fair Park

Position Summary:

This position is an outside philanthropic sales position cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors giving $2,500 to more than $25,000 annually, as well as prospective donors who could give at that level.  Familiarity with Fair Park and its surrounding neighborhoods and of the individual philanthropic society of Dallas is strongly preferred. 

Broadway Dallas’ rapidly growing fundraising efforts would not be complete without the leadership and work performed by a Major Gift Officer for Individual Giving. This dynamic, energetic, social, and highly organized individual oversees the cultivation of current and prospective individual donors of $2,500 to more than $25,000. This person will be joining and joyfully collaborating with a team of six other fundraising professionals with other areas of fundraising expertise in events, corporate/foundation, and individual giving—all led by the VP Development who has increased gross contributed revenues to the nonprofit organization by more than $1 million in three years.

 

Responsibilities:

     Responsible for significantly contributing to raising $2.5 million in individual gifts by building donor-centric relationships with a portfolio of approximately 150 qualified and prospective individual major donors.

     Regularly meets with donors in person to advance discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship objectives. Out-of-office meetings are expected to be approximately 65% of the time worked by this role.

     Regularly interacts with donors and prospective donors via phone calls, emails, and texts.

     Writes individual and family foundation proposals, sponsorship requests and reports.

     Generates and qualifies new individual giving leads through referrals, wealth analytics list review, and networking events.

     Documents donor interactions and information in Raiser’s Edge.     

     Assists in the creation and implementation of new individual giving benefits.

·       Acts as a public face for Broadway Dallas in the Dallas individual philanthropic community. 

·       Attends each show in Broadway Dallas’ Germania Broadway Series.

     Shared responsibility for Membership Suite and other on-site presence for cultivation and stewardship when qualified or prospective individual major donors are attending a Broadway Dallas performance.

        Assists in coordination of donor events including the annual Broadway Dallas Gala.

        Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

        At least three years of demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors within a not-for-profit organization or higher education institution.

        Bachelor’s degree.

 

Requirements:

        Proven ability to effectively work independently, as well as within a close-knit team.

        Driven by a passion to meet people and connect them with the work of their organization.

        Demonstrated ability to convincingly and concisely communicate the important role of the organization they represent in the community—and specifically the mission and values of Broadway Dallas—to the public and donors.

        Demonstrated impeccable verbal and written communication skills in person, on the phone, and through email and text correspondence.

        Professional presentation with an outgoing, warm, and kind demeanor.

        Demonstrated organizational and strategic thinking skills.

        Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to prioritize complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

        Ability to maintain confidential information and act on time-sensitive material.

        Availability to regularly work evenings and weekends.

 

Preferred Skills:

     Proven fundraising success, as noted above, in a performing arts organization.

Demonstrated ease interacting in-person with high-net-worth individuals.

     Experience working in CRMs, fundraising technology such as Raiser’s Edge, and Microsoft Office.

     Experience working with ticketing systems such as Archtics.
