United Way of Western CT is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Sales Associate, Prosperity Digital Marketplace (PDM). This is a Part-time position based in Stamford, Ct office.

The United Way of Western Connecticut is seeking a results-driven individual sales associate to support a new and exciting initiative called Prosperi-Key. Prosperi-Key is a new online marketplace that partners with local United Ways to connect hard working individuals called ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) with targeted support, services, and discounts from nonprofits, businesses, and government. By partnering with Prosperi-Key, businesses have the opportunity to advertise, gain new customers, and give back to the community.

Job Summary

We are looking for someone who is driven and has a passion for sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating and securing sales in the market and guiding them through the contract process, all with a goal of delivering excellence and hitting sales targets on a quarterly basis. This position has an assigned territory of Stamford, Connecticut. The Sales Associate reports to the Resource Development Manager under the supervision of the Vice President of Resource Development & Marketing.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Generate a list of sales leads.
  •         Build connections with potential and new customers.
  •         Visit new and potential customers, assess customer needs, and suggest appropriate opportunities.
  •         Fulfill service obligations to meet established revenue targets.
  •         Collaborate with United Way and maintain a plan for identifying and targeting prospects representing the diversity of key communities, and tracking the performance of business recruitment, retention, and expansion.
  •         Hit sales targets as established in quarterly goal meetings.
  •         Actively use data system to capture, enter, and maintain critical information.
  •         Work closely with business partners to develop content and effectively communicate offers on the digital platform.
  •         Represent the United Way mission, vision, and values.
  •         Participate in related organizational, departmental and committee meetings and training programs to enhance product knowledge and cross-selling skills.
  •         Engage in job-related travel to business meetings across Stamford.
  •         Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

 

Required Experience and Education

  •        Proven sales experience in related fields with two or more years of experience preferred. 
  •         Strong relationships in Stamford with the business community, with proven ability to engage and deepen relationships resulting in successful sales outcomes.
  •        Ability to handle administrative tasks and multi-task with efficiency.
  •         Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to relate effectively with a diverse group of individuals and organizations and the ability to compose written material that compels action.
  •         Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
  •         Positive attitude.
  •         Sound judgment, discretion, and commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality.
  •         Bilingual language skills a plus.
  •         Must possess a valid driver’s license and have unrestricted use of a reliable automobile.

 

Compensation

This is part time, 10-hours per week. Pay is $30 per hour plus 20% commission on each sale with additional performance incentives. There is an opportunity for growth, including long-term employment with benefits, based on results of quarterly performance.
