United Way of Coastal and Western CT is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Resource Development Associate. This is a full-time, position based in Danbury, CT. Staff currently work on hybrid schedule with three days onsite and two days remote.

Position Overview
Bring your fundraising experience, creative ideas, and passion for helping others to our Development Team! This entry level position is a terrific opportunity for the qualified candidate to engage in a broad range of fundraising and marketing activities at United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut. An essential member of the Resource Development and Marketing team, the Development Associate will provide research, sales, and administrative support. You will serve as a brand ambassador for our non-profit’s mission, work, and community impact--both internally and externally.
Essential Functions include:
Corporate Engagement

Assist with workplace fundraising campaigns and related events, including coordinating campaign materials and attending corporate campaign events and meetings.

Cultivate relationships with Chambers of Commerce and local civic organizations to identify qualified donors or campaign leads.

Occasionally present the goals and impact of United Way at events for corporate partners.

Assist the Development Team with volunteer, sponsorship, and impact programs, including creating and editing sponsorship proposals, preparing meeting agendas, and more.

Collaborate with the Marketing team on campaign-related web and social media content.
Relationship Management

Assist in cultivating and managing ongoing relationships with current and prospective donors.

Assist in providing timely donor recognition and appreciation.

Assist with the prospecting, research, and outreach for current and new partners.

Participate in community activities which contribute to the acquisition and retention of individual donors.

Manage small business fundraising accounts.
Events
-
Provide staff support to volunteer committees and Resource Development team to plan and execute programs and events.

Provide support for securing event sponsorships from small businesses.
Data Management and Technology
-
Resident expert on customer relationship management system (CRM) and workplace giving database, responsible for ongoing, up-to-date entry of donation data.

Collaborate with the Marketing team on workplace-giving technology platforms, including building, and updating company sites, uploading employee databases, and more.
Required Experience and Education

BA/BS degree and one to two years of fundraising or sales experience.

Team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Strong organizational and project management skills with, with attention to detail and follow-up.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.

High degree of professional integrity to deal ethically with confidential information.

Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM systems.
