The Director, Corporate Communications plays a pivotal role in working with the communications team to formulate a comprehensive communications strategy. This strategy encompasses the management of the Company’s brand image and public perception, both internally and externally. The Director ensures adherence to industry standards while developing and orchestrating a diverse array of business and marketing communications. The primary objective of this multifaceted approach is to significantly enhance the company’s visibility and reinforce its position as a premier pioneer in cancer immunotherapy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Drive a multi-channel communications strategy, working with senior leadership, the internal communications team, as well as outside consultants
  • Prepare and manage communications materials
  • Assist in creating and managing a strong reputation by demonstrating consistent and clear communication between internal and external parties.
  • Refine messaging and market positioning based on company performance, market perception, expectations, peer performance.
  • Originate, manage, and maintain external-facing materials, including press releases, corporate presentations, investor presentations, data presentations, brochures, fact sheets, conference call scripts, Q&As, etc.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team on the development, integration, and execution of the corporate communications strategy.
  • Remain on top of industry trends and competitive landscape to both proactively and reactively adjust plans, messaging and manage relationships that may be impacted.
  • Analyze and present financial trends, competitor behavior, shareholder issues, and anything else that could impact the business.
  • Assist in the creation, evolution, and implementation of the company’s brand identity and corporate messaging
  • Assist in the strategic development of the corporate internet strategy and maintenance of the content of all corporate websites
  • Coordinate with and manage key agency and vendor engagements, primarily brand agency, investor and public relations, and direct and digital marketing relationships
  • Select and manage freelance staff, including graphic designers, writers, production houses, photographers and videographers
  • Assist in monitoring expenses against budget throughout year
  • Assist in planning and execution of all aspects of medical conference planning, registration, exhibits, and symposiums
  • Create and maintain booth designs for industry meetings, working with the clinical team to ensure achievement of corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as all related healthcare laws and regulations.

Qualification Requirements:

Education:

  • BA/BS in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Life Sciences or related field.

Experience:

  • 8 years minimum experience in Communications, Investor/Public Relations or Marketing with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology industry.
  • Oncology and/or combination drug/device experience preferred.
  • Experience managing key corporate communications functions, including concept development, writing/editing, production and distribution; as well as management of external agencies.
  • Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of the competitive environment in the immuno-oncology marketplace and in research and development pipelines
  • Experience developing and implementing internal communications strategies to meet the needs of the company.

Knowledge/Skill:

  • Strong aptitude for working with software platforms such as CRM, Slack, Simpplr, and similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Adobe software
  • The ideal candidate will be a hands-on builder with excellent strategic, communications, interpersonal and business skills
  • Ability to develop the short and long-term corporate messaging aligned by stakeholder and channel
  • Broad knowledge of the technical elements involved in communications
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility to take on new challenges as needed
  • Capacity to operate collectively in cross-functional collaborations
  • Ability to translate complex scientific and business matters into easy to communicate messaging to keep all parties focused on what really matters
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a solid understanding of the use of AI in marketing and communications

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to, the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range: $215,000-240,000

This position generally is eligible for cash incentive compensation, equity incentive compensation, and employee benefits under the Company’s benefit plans.
