The Lede Company is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join its growing Accounting team. In this role, the Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for full cycle accounting, employee expenses and reimbursement, reporting, document preparation and team supervision. This role will report to an Accounting Manager and will supervise junior staff in their day-to-day activities.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full cycle accounting: Perform full-cycle general accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, G/L reconciliations, month-end journal entries, amortization schedules, bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Customer dispute resolution: Work with corporate customers to settle disputes over billing issues and follow up on payments as needed

  • Oversee essential banking functions, including daily cash reporting and various payment initiation processes

  • Assist with monthly invoicing

  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by asset/liability, revenue/expenses)

  • Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and prepare and record journal entries

  • Analyze and reconcile key balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Allocate monthly company credit card activity to the appropriate GL expense account

  • Analyze budgets, create expense reports and monitor employee reimbursements

  • Reconcile month-end cash and monthly bank statements

  • Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders; research variances and month-over-month changes

  • Contribute to the month-end and year-end close with Accounting team

  • Advise vendors, clients and internal staff on financial issues (e.g., collections, expenses, payment discrepancies) via email or phone

  • Prepare documents for audits; apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations

  • Prepares checks, including releasing ACH transactions and web payments, and backup

  • Maintain and update accounting records and files

  • Research and recommend programs, policies, and procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Accounting department

  • Create various ad-hoc reports, project revenue and expenses 

  • And other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive full cycle accounting experience. Similar experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting

  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and relevant accounting regulations

  • Solid understanding of accrual accounting

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, especially Excel

  • Knowledge of an accounting information system (Quickbooks, Sage, NetSuite, Xero) and AP/expense tool (Bill.com, Divvy) required

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

  • Strong organizational and communication skills and good judgment

  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and responsibly

  • Ability to work in-office a minimum of 3 days per week
