POSITION: HR Manager

LOCATION: New York, NY

JOB TYPE: Exempt / Full Time

SALARY RANGE: 95K - 110K

 

The Lede Company is looking for an HR Manager, with solid experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, to join our growing company. The ideal candidate is an HR generalist that has supported high-volume PR/communications teams at an agency or within the entertainment and media industries. The HR Manager will be responsible for supporting employee lifecycle programs, including talent acquisition; training and professional development; employee engagement; employee relations; performance management; and DE&I initiatives.

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with the HR Director and department managers on talent acquisition, career development, performance management, retention and leadership development.

  • Supports talent acquisition including drafting job descriptions, candidate outreach, & interviewing; building partnerships with colleges/universities and community organizations; and collaborating with hiring teams to understand their needs. 

  • Oversees non-exempt timekeeping and overtime reporting.

  • Organizes and manages all on-boarding/off-boarding tasks and activities.

  • Leads and manages Lede’s year-round internship program including recruitment and programming.

  • Recommends and plans training and development programs for individual contributors that provide skill development and professional growth opportunities.

  • Drafts and distributes internal HR communications, as needed.

  • Partners with the HR Director and department heads to drive employee engagement. Plan, organize, and manage culture initiatives, including monthly birthdays, HR newsletter, office happy hours and outings.

  • Supports and organizes DE&I initiatives including training and developing content and programs.

  • Support on employee relations matters, as needed, such as performance management and terminations.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes in HR and employment law

  • Recommends and develops initiatives, programs and solutions to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organization. Support the execution of HR initiatives as they arise.

  • Ability to work in-office 4 days a week.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6+ years' of relevant HR generalist experience, ideally at an agency 

  • Abreast of HR best practices and employment laws – particularly for CA and NY

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and tasks

  • Solid proficiency with HR systems: HRIS and ATS

  • PR/communications experience preferred
