Who We Seek

Hispanic Federation seeks a Data Manager to help develop and maintain the organization’s programmatic data systems, provide data for program evaluation, and organize and present data that can be used to maximize our impact. The Data Manager will help provide uniform data collection and analysis across HF programs and departments. The successful candidate will have training in statistics and analytics, strong digital analysis skills, and the ability to work with program and administrative staff to identify data needs and help develop systems and processes to meet them. The Data Manager will be expected to be in New York or Washington, DC as needed.

 

Position Location: New York City, Washington, DC, or another location where HF has offices and multiple staff.

 

Reports to: Senior Director for Data Integration

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help develop, strengthen, and manage HF data systems and databases
  • Help create data collection methodology and protocols for regular collection of project data
  • Create, revise, and propose data management policies and strategies based on requirements and best practices and support their implementation
  • Assist in gathering, organizing, processing, and analyzing data for monitoring and evaluation of selected HF projects
  • Interpret raw data and turn it into feedback that can be used to strengthen programs and increase their community impact
  • Extract relevant data and produce regular and ad hoc reports for HF Leadership, as requested
  • Monitor database performance and contribute to data integrity by performing quality assurance activities
  • Support program staff in their work to ensure proper collection and analysis of program data, and administrative staff to ensure appropriate collection and use of management data

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, information systems, or social sciences with strong data coursework or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of experience with data management or related work
  • Knowledge of statistics as applied to data analysis
  • Understanding of data management and administrative policies
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to complete multiple tasks with demanding deadlines
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and a collaborative spirit
  • Proficiency in reviewing, understanding, and analyzing large and varied data sets
  • Ability to produce clear and easy to understand reports and other data products

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with program data
  • Experience in use of Excel and other software used for quantitative analysis
  • Understanding of Latino and social justice issues and a commitment to Hispanic Federation's mission and core values
  • Nonprofit experience
  • Proficiency in written and oral Spanish

 

Benefits and Salary

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 and is commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with a fully subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance at the start of employment, 403(b) retirement plans with a company match after 6 months, and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits. First year employees of the Hispanic Federation receive a PTO package with 15 days designated for vacation, 4 personal days, and 8 sick days annually.
