Who We Seek

Hispanic Federation seeks a Campaign Coordinator to support civic engagement efforts across three states (IL, WI, MI) under the direction of the Midwest Programs Director. The Campaign Coordinator will be the first point of contact with partner organizations when requesting support from HF, and they will track the partner organizations’ engagement as they complete deliverables. The Campaign Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring partner organizations have needed supplies and materials in other to execute their outreach and engagement.

A successful candidate will be a dynamic individual possessing a breadth of campaign coordination experience and demonstrating a range of professional skills. The Campaign Coordinator will be onboarded to the Midwest Engagement Strategy and will be tasked with managing and implementing parts of the stated plan. This will include managing part of the initiative across multiple states with varying sizes and scopes. This ideal candidate will be passionate about building and running people-powered campaigns. The Campaign Coordinator must be effective at time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritization.

This position will report to the Midwest Office in Chicago, IL. The position is hybrid and will require a minimum of 10 days onsite or in the field over the course of the month.

Status: Position is part-time temporary with funding ending on December 31, 2024 at the latest.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Midwest office’s civic engagement efforts, working directly with our partners in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin and managing tasks as part of the campaign plan.
  • Liaise with campaign members to ensure their needs are met, collect, and manage data based on their outreach to ensure they are meeting their contracted deliverables.
  • Work closely with Midwest Directors of Programs and Policy to ensure ongoing awareness and quick response to emerging external and internal responsibilities and events.
  • Support the development of a communications plans for specific events in partnership with HF’s Communication’s Team.
  • Develop and manage a campaign calendar with deadlines and pertinent information that will serve as a guide.
  • Track and manage list of supplies and collateral as it relates to the Community Engagement campaign, ensure partners have everything needed to execute their plans.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, at least one (1) year of experience in civic engagement/candidate or issue campaigns is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to prepare very effective written materials in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a flexible and collaborative spirit
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple requests and projects simultaneously, and adjust strategy to changing demands
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize and work under deadlines
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism and a passion for serving the Latino community

  • Access to quality and consistent internet for remote work, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish
  • Expertise in relationship building especially regarding communities of Latinos, immigrants, education, health, economic empowerment, civil rights, civic engagement, nonprofits and/or the environment
  • Experience with civic and voter engagement campaigns
  • Ability to implement vision, think strategically, creatively problem solve, and exercise good judgment
