Who We Seek

Hispanic Federation is seeking a Development Coordinator to support the general administration of HF’s growing Development Team. The coordinator plays a key role within HF’s fundraising by providing critical support and ensuring data is clean, up-to-date, and readily available for internal and external use.

The successful candidate is interested in learning about nonprofit development and fundraising, is a detail oriented, a solid multi-tasker, and self motivated. As the coordinator will work with data and become familiar with HF’s databases and various trackers and internal systems, they must be possess an ability to focus on working swiftly with a commitment to accuracy. As a member of the development team, the coordinator is responsible for the further development of systems and data quality.

The position is a full time role and will require onsite presence in our New York City office a minimum of 10 days a month, and more as required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the administrative needs of the Development Team, playing a critical role with HF’s Raiser’s Edge Database and its applications and components.
  • Prepare and provide reports using Development Databases and Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, Luminate to meet the needs of HF’s fundraising strategy.
  • Run reports for, draft, and issue donation acknowledgements, end of year appeal requests, and in managing additional donor engagement, as required and requested.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with HF’s internal finance team; support initial reconciliation of funds and monies received and allocated to HF’s programs and operations.
  • Provide updates outlining the progress of fundraising campaigns and major gift events; maintain Raiser’s Edge up to date with all confirmed pledges and donations.
  • Manage confidential information and provide updates as requested by authorized individuals with the organization.
  • Support special events and additional fundraising activities, as requested.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a multiservice organization, direct development experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, or similar caliber of fundraising data management software is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, GSuite, and similar office systems is required.
  • Experience adhering to administrative and/or development policies and protocols.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of accuracy while working quickly.
  • Experience presenting and public speaking, ability to speak with diverse stakeholders at different levels is a strength.
  • Ability to communicate in written and verbal Spanish is highly desired but not required.
  • Comfort with funder outreach and supporting with donor cultivation is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Latino and social justice issues and a commitment to the work of Hispanic Federation.
  • High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.

 

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $45,000- $50,000 and is commensurate with experience. Compensation includes fully subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance; access to flexible spending for medical and transportation; and a 403 (B) retirement plan available at start, with organization match after 6 months of service.
