Who We Seek

Hispanic Federation is seeking a Programs Coordinator to bolster our community outreach and engagement efforts. We're searching for an individual with a deep commitment to social justice and dedication to advancing equity and equality within the Latino community. The ideal candidate will possess impeccable organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and resources. They should also be a strong communicator and capable of effectively representing the organization in diverse public settings such as community meetings, workshops, and events. Additionally, cultural competency is paramount, requiring a nuanced understanding of Latino culture and the ability to engage sensitively and authentically with diverse community members.

This position reports to the Programs and Grants Manager and is a hybrid position requiring 10 days onsite in the Mount Olive, NC office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support in the planning and implementation of programming, events, and community engagement. 

  • Track and organize program files, ensure deliverables are met and properly logged for reporting and for proposals to funding institutions and government agencies. 

  • Forge and maintain relationships with local community organizations and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and expand outreach efforts. 

  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision for program activities, ensuring a positive and meaningful volunteer experience. 

  • Represent Hispanic Federation in various community spaces and when attending events. 

  • Support administrative tasks, as needed. 
     

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of nonprofit experience, experience with community engagement and grants management strongly preferred. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

  • Must be able to function well in a fast-paced work environment, able to respond to multiple requests for assistance simultaneously. 

  • Work collaboratively and independently, have experience working with remote offices.  

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint). 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a flexible and collaborative spirit. 

  • Ability to prioritize and work under multiple deadlines. 

  • Strong understanding of Latino and social justice issues and a commitment to Hispanic Federation's mission and core values. 

  • Bilingual in written and spoken English and Spanish is required.  

  • Access to reliable transportation, and must possess a current, valid driver’s license.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000 and commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(B) retirement plan (including eligibility for a company match), and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits. Full- time regular employees are also provided with fifteen (15) vacation days, four (4) personal days, and paid sick time.
