Who We Seek 

Hispanic Federation is seeking an engaged Health Program Coordinator to execute community engagement and lead workshops within network and partner agencies. The coordinator will be responsible the program logistics, provide support to participants, and recruit and engage partner agencies in Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; and Houston, TX. The coordinator will oversee program administration and logistics for events in community spaces. The successful candidate will have experience in program management, an interest in budget management, and a desire to support healthy lifestyles in Latino communities.

The position is a hybrid role which will require a minimum of 10 days onsite or in the field per month. Candidates should be in New York City and must be able to report to the HF Headquarters.

Reports to: Senior Director for Health Initiatives

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support program administration and identify areas of improvement within the operations and systems. 

  • Manage data collection and analysis of program progress, track program participation and support members in their outreach when required. 

  • Develop and manage partnerships for Health Programs.

  • Assists in the planning, coordination and implementation of curriculum and class participation for public education within Health Programs (facilitate conversation, cultivate an environment of collaboration and openness, ensure participants feel comfortable asking questions). 

  • Attend meetings and trainings as directed, serve as the education lead within assigned health programs.. 

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing privacy and data security. 

  • Support Hispanic Federation events and programs as assigned. 

 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required with one (1) year of  experience working with adults from communities that have a disproportionate burden of poverty and chronic disease is preferred, Associate’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years is required. 

  • Past experience leading groups and group facilitation is an asset. 

  • A passion for teaching people about healthy lifestyles and motivating participants to learn. 

  • Understanding of Latino communities and ability to approach conversation with high cultural competency. 

  • Comfort in executing training in community, ability to present health topics and communicate with participants in English and Spanish is required. 

  • Skilled in verbal and written communication, well organized, computer literate, data collection, and capable of managing a variety of activities. 

  • Ability to build strong relationships with individuals and foster community within a group. 

  • Interest in program administration is required, experience working with program administration preferred.

  • Must be willing and able to travel as part of the program deliverables. 

 

Benefits and Salary 

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 and is commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with a fully subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance, 403(B) retirement plans with a company match after 6 months, and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits.

First year employees of the Hispanic Federation receive a PTO package with 15 days designated for vacation, 4 Personal Days, and 8 Sick Days annually.
