Who We Seek
Hispanic Federation (HF) is seeking an Immigration Program Manager to support event coordination, program execution and community engagement for HF’s work on Long Island, focused on Westbury and neighboring towns, Brentwood, Patchogue, and Riverhead and other sites around Suffolk and Nassau Counties. Under the supervision of the Immigration Program Specialist, the Manager will work on engaging community focused partners in HF programming and serve as the lead contact for Know Your Rights events, community training, and legal clinics. The Manager will also support member organizations in coordinating legal service events and ensuring community members receive critical support available to them.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a legal service provider and addressing the concerns of underserved community members. The position will require strong program management skills and focus on positive outcomes for underserved community members.
The position is a hybrid role and will require onsite presence at least 50% of the time, a minimum of 10 days on site or at events per month. The position will require frequent travel to Long Island and may have a base of operation on Long Island which will be considered as per the monthly on-site requirement.

Responsibilities:

Meet with impacted community-based organizations and partners, assess their needs, support the coordination of activities and events, and provide solutions and recommendations to maximize impact.

Develop a centralized referral system and manage a robust calendar of events; promote event participation, support the delivery of services, and disseminate all information in a culturally competent manner.

Prepare impact reports for the New York State Office for New Americans, provide quantifiable outcomes such as total individuals served, number of cases managed, and types of relief sought.

Oversee data aggregation and manage program outputs, ensure confidential information held by contracted agencies is stored in a safe, secure manner.

Participate in programmatic reviews of materials, data, policies, and procedures; ensure stored documentation is accurate and prepared for internal and external site visits.

Develop and strengthen partnerships on Long Island with libraries, community centers, and other local entities.

Support the team with voucher process and check requests, as needed.

Provide creative solutions to meet departmental deliverable/programmatic goals.

Support events and data reporting for other HF sites, namely HF’s headquarters in New York City, as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, at least three (3) years of program management experience and with members of underserved communities, at least one (1) of program supervision as it relates to providing services.

Familiarity with immigrant community on Long Island.

Demonstrate strong initiative and self-motivation, consistently identifying and pursuing opportunities for improvement with minimal supervision.

Experience with community outreach and engagement is a strong asset.

Must have an interest in immigration law and services, willing to become DOJ certified, and attend professional development training on immigration law.

Experience managing legal applications for services and guiding applicants through various governmental application processes.

Highly organized and detail oriented, solutions oriented is a must.

Strong written and spoken communication skill in both English and Spanish, community outreach will require additional language skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with staff at all levels and with diverse community.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities with a focus on programmatic impact, positive experiences for clients, and achieving results.

Well-developed writing is required with an ability to synthesize high level topics into more accessible language.

Proficient knowledge of computer systems and applications such as Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook; understanding of client databases, a plus.

Demonstrated commitment to advancing the Hispanic Federation’s values, mission, and goals.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with fully subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance, 403(B) retirement plan – eligible for a company match, access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits. Full-time regular employees are also provided with fifteen (15) vacation days, four (4) personal days, and paid sick time.
HF is a hybrid work environment with the opportunity to work from home 50% of the time.
