Position Description:
Newfish, Inc is seeking candidates for Head of Business Development to be located remotely within the United States. As the Head of Business Development you will be tasked with leading sales and client management to grow the business and expand our strategic partnerships by working on strategic marketing, setting objectives and identifying methods to reach those goals.
More specifically, we are looking for an experienced business development lead with strong product instincts to create and execute partnership strategies in support of new product launches and business initiatives. Responsibilities also include building internal business cases, identifying product requirements and developing go-to market strategies for potential client initiatives as well as leading cross-functional execution and driving internal alignment. Success in this role will require you to navigate ambiguity to identify and negotiate new partnership opportunities in support of Newfish’s user and product objectives.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of company offerings to understand the needs of retailers/industry, articulate and evangelize these needs and trends internally
- Identify profitable business opportunities and lead discussions with prospective clients, serving as the internal and external expert; pursue and manage strategic partnerships to grow the business
- Build the best-in-class client discovery, solutioning, onboarding, integration, and optimization activities that will help the company to effectively scale and strengthen our partnership ecosystem
- Define the key customer engagement metrics, including renewal and churn indicators, expansion and adoption trends, and lead the cross-functional communication of performance against these metrics
- Recruit, train and lead a high-performance team of salespeople and account managers
- Collaborate closely with product, strategy and others to shape business strategy
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- 10+ years of business development, sales and marketing experience in ad tech
- Proven sales track record and accomplishment of building new relationships, selling to new accounts, landing complex Saas/Enterprise products, closing multi-stakeholder deals
- Experience building and leading product sales specialist organizations
- Ability to succinctly explain ad tech language and ideas to a non-technical stakeholders and prospective partners
- Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-moving organization and thrives on a high level of autonomy and responsibility
- Strong decision making skills and the ability to prioritize through competing demands and complex problems
- Hands on experience and a deep understanding of Adtech/ Media exposure is a huge value add
- Comfortable with dynamics of a quickly changing industry and the resulting changes to strategy internally at a scrappy startup
