Overview:

Arizona Custom Blends is seeking an R&D Formulator for a leading nutraceutical company that specializes in powders and capsules.

 

Job Description:

The R&D Formulator will be responsible for research and development activities for our client's powder and capsule projects.  This individual will work closely with the quality and production team to plan, organize, implement, and track projects. The R&D formulator will make decisions based on proof-of-concept investigations in a timely manner. This is a hands-on position actively working in the R&D lab.

 

Duties:

• Formulator needs to develop prototype samples, plans for scale up batches, and confirm viability of production formulations. 
• Gathers, stores and records samples in laboratory.
• Assures that materials and formulation meet written client specifications.
• Performs raw material evaluations, documents all data collected during testing and evaluates viability in full production setting.
• Performs and/or assists in various phases of R&D and product development activities. Processes lab batches and scale up batches using scales, blenders, and encapsulation machines.
• Flavor experience helpful, but not required.

 

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of R&D and Formulation experience in nutraceuticals.
• Knowledge of powder and encapsulation behaviors.
• Nutraceutical production experience a plus.
• Basic understanding Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)

 

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, science, nutrition, or related field (Preferred)
