School of Nursing ADN Program Assistant Professor

Boston Campus (12-month)

 

Bay State College School of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking a full-time, 12-month Nurse Educator at the Assistant Professor rank at our Boston campus. The Assistant Professor's responsibilities will include teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online didactic courses as needed. Additionally, the Assistant Professor is expected to adhere to college expectations for teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will report directly to the Chair of the Associate Degree in Nursing Program. 

Essential Functions:

·       Participate with other members of the teaching team in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing courses and program policies

·       Evaluate student performance and competence in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings

·       Assume a leadership role in delineating and articulating nursing content in assigned courses

·       Collaborate with appropriate faculty from other academic disciplines and the behavioral sciences to facilitate and integrate a correlated approach to course offerings

·       Participate with other course members in the annual review or revision of course outlines, bibliographies, study guides, media, and other related course materials

·       Contribute to the systematic evaluation of all components of the Nursing Program

·       Ability to work with new technology and software and strong organizational skills

·       Advise assigned students; maintain student advising and office hours

·       Maintain attendance for assigned students

·       Maintain communication with members of the teaching team, the Chair of the department and Dean of Nursing

·       Collaborate with college personnel

·       Demonstrate motivation, self-direction, and perseverance toward achieving the philosophy and mission of the Division of Nursing

·       Continue to improve expertise in nursing and teaching through academic study, clinical practice, and other appropriate activities

·       Serve on Division of Nursing and College organization committees, and adhere to the provided bylaws of the Nursing department

·       Assume other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

·        Master's degree preparation in Nursing.

·        Licensure to practice professional nursing, or be eligible for licensure, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

·        Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.

·        Experience in simulation and/or lab instruction preferred.

·        Evidence of effective teaching strategies, professional engagement, and ongoing clinical competency.

·        Bilingual language is a plus.

·        This position will be based on the Boston campus with potential occasional travel to the Taunton campus.
