Position Overview

The Adjunct Faculty, College Algebra, will be responsible for delivering a one hundred level math course This position is for Fall Term 2 which runs from October 25th through December 17th 2021. The class runs on ground Mondays from 12:15 to 2pm and online for the hybrid portion of the course.  The class location is 31 St. James, Boston, MA.  The Adjunct Faculty, College Algebra will report directly to the Dean, School of Arts and Sciences.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Dean and Instructional Designer to deliver the course MAT 104 College Algebra.
  • Ensure the delivery (class and online) is meaningful and understandable in meeting the College’s expectations and student success.
  • Conduct teaching and student learning assessment bi-weekly for performance improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Previous experience teaching mathematics at the college level.
  • Strong demonstration of a deep commitment to the College’s mission of nurturing student success, achievement, and persistence.
  • Excellent and effective interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience in Canvas is preferred.  


Working Conditions

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Stooping and bending the body downward and forward.
  • Normal office conditions. Must be available to work a flexible schedule.
