LineSlip Solutions is currently recruiting an Insurance Analyst to join our fast-growing data science team.
Purpose-built for the commercial insurance industry, LineSlip has created a framework that uses Natural Language Processing to automatically extract and organize data previously locked in binders, policies, proposals, and other insurance documents. With LineSlip solutions for Private Equity, Real Estate and Risk Management, users can easily visualize data, automate reporting, and make smarter, more timely business decisions that affect the bottom line. We are actively working with some of the country’s leading risk managers, insurance brokerage, private equity and real estate firms.
Position Summary:
As an expert on commercial insurance coverages, the Insurance Analyst will train and coordinate a team of offshore annotators, ensuring the production of high-quality labeled data to train LineSlip’s AI models. The Insurance Analyst will serve as quality control, performing validation tasks on annotated work submitted by a team of offshore annotators and will provide feedback for improvements on tools and processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge across multiple lines of insurance, great attention to detail, and the leadership skills to drive efficiency for a team of offshore annotators. He or she must be comfortable doing repetitive work with data.
This is a fully (and permanently) remote position. Candidates can be located anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Locate, label, and categorize various elements in large text datasets (e.g., insurance binders, policies, endorsements, invoices, etc.).
- Lead and/or coordinate a team of offshore annotators, including but not limited to:
- Developing and implementing guidelines and procedures to achieve consistent annotation.
- Providing constructive feedback on tooling and processes to improve data quality and labelling efficiency.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on a broad range of commercial insurance coverages to include training of annotators as needed.
- Interact with data science and engineering teams to design new features for more efficient labeling techniques.
- Create and/or analyze reporting and metrics to support annotation workflow, inform process improvements, and improve dataset quality.
- Support Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and other automation efforts by serving as a subject matter expert on the LineSlip platform and SharePoint.
- Support ad hoc technology and data science projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial property & casualty insurance experience as an insurance account executive or in a policy service, broker/producer, sales, distribution, or underwriting role.
- Experience handling multiple commercial insurance lines of coverage required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Superior time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly demanding, constantly changing environment.
- Able to deliver multiple projects of varying lengths, while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
- Self-motivating with the ability to work independently and with little supervision in a remote work environment.

- Successfully meets or exceeds targets, working within tight deadlines.
