Director of Finance 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Finance to join our growing SaaS company. This critical leadership role will oversee the company’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, support strategic decision-making, and ensure overall financial health. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong foundation in accounting and financial analysis, blending strategic insights, technical expertise and operational excellence 

This is a fully remote position. While candidates can be located anywhere, preference will be given to those on the East Coast of the United States. 

This is a direct hire role only no third parties or agencies. 

Key Responsibilities:  

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): 

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans. 

  • Provide insightful financial analyses and reporting to support strategic initiatives and business decisions. 

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across all functional areas, focusing on SaaS metrics such as ARR, CAC payback, LTV, and churn. 

Accounting & Compliance: 

  • Oversee the company’s accounting operations through management of an outsourced accounting firm. 

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards. 

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. 

  • Manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. 

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Partner with the executive team to support growth strategies, product launches, and market expansion. 

  • Provide scenario modeling and risk analysis for potential business opportunities. 

Operational Excellence: 

  • Optimize cash flow management and ensure proper allocation of resources. 

  • Collaborate with department leaders to manage budgets and improve financial discipline across the organization. 

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function. 

Qualifications: 

Education & Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification a plus 

Experience: 

  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles  

  • Experience working in a PE or VC-backed company 

  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business models is strongly preferred 

  • Proven track record in FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling

  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics and business models 

  • Advanced proficiency in financial tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, and BI platforms) 

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights 

  • Strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset 

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
