ABOUT THE ROLE
It's an exciting time to be joining the Roland Foods team, and we're looking for a team player who wants to actively contribute to our dynamic and transformative environment! As the Sales Project Manager, you will serve as a vital part of the organization, guiding Industrial Channel sourcing strategy while managing relationships with key industrial, supplier, national account and food service partners ensuring initiation and continuity of supply for priority products, and working cross-functionally with Industrial Sales Channel leadership to support strategic initiatives.


Roland Foods will establish this role as a remote position, but due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization and this position, candidates in the surrounding Tri-Sate area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) are preferred; along with the ability to be in the NYC office as needed.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily responsible for managing high-complexity projects related to sourcing and commercialization of products for the Industrial Sales Channel
  • Work directly with cross functional stakeholders to support customer opportunities and track the progress and success of such opportunities
  • Bridge the gap between customers and supplier network to find solutions and drive sales growth
  • Manage negotiations cross functionally with suppliers, customers, procurement, and sales to secure market leading costs leading to sales wins
  • Report to Industrial Channel leadership on spend, savings, inventory commitments, supply constraints, etc. on ongoing basis
  • Become familiar with High Complexity Opportunity SOPs as current; showcase willingness and ability to augment and better current flow through organization
  • Collaborate with Sales team responsible for sourcing opportunities across sales channels which need high complexity project management
  • Collaborate with team of Supply and Demand Planning Analysts responsible for procurement and inventory management to ensure steady flow of goods associated with industrial customer production schedules
  • Partner with Sales to understand customer demand and translate that information into accurate forecasts; work with Supply and Demand Planning Analysts to ensure proper PO placement to maintain sufficient inventory stock levels at the appropriate warehouse location
  • Manage relationships with key supplier partners to ensure security of supply and build true partnerships across the supplier network



QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 3+ years of technical and/or consultative sales experience in perishable goods. Food ingredient sales experience desirable, but not a hard requirement
  • Experience in Salesforce, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point,) and Project Management software
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial thinker with a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Experience with Project Management strongly preferred
  • Ideal candidate can understand nuance and detail without losing sight of the “big picture” and stay focused on operational objectives
  • Experience with a food manufacturer, co-packer, commissary, or meal kit company desirable
  • Excellent communicator with proactive sense of ownership of the responsibilities of the role
  • Experience with business intelligence software (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Degree in Business or other related field preferred
