ABOUT THE ROLE

Roland Foods is seeking a Director, Operations to oversee the core engine of its business, including international logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, and business operations analytics.

This position is expected to report to Roland Foods’ New York City headquarters.

As a response to the pandemic, Roland Foods office employees have transitioned to a hybrid working schedule, requiring employees to report in-person Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to telework on Monday and Friday each week. Due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization, employees at the NY and NJ offices are required to work in-person for the abovementioned days, outside of any People & Culture-approved disability accommodation request.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-day management of the Company’s warehousing, transportation, and 3PL providers.
  • Managerial responsibility for the Company’s warehouse team in Miami, Florida.
  • Managerial responsibility for the Inventory Control team.
  • Responsibility for managing Distribution Expense to budget, and continuous improvement to reduce the actual rate of Distribution Expense to Gross Revenue.
  • Collaboration with Sales, Customer Experience, and other departments within the Company to drive customer order fulfillment to meet customer expectations.
  • Create and conduct high profile presentations and effectively represent distribution logistics to key leaders.
  • Participate in and influence Roland Foods’ Operations and Logistics strategy agendas from a Distribution perspective and communicate and coordinate distribution initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver structural improvements and designs for the future; while maximizing daily performance, future scalability, and growth opportunities for the business.
  • Other activities or initiatives at the direction of the Senior Vice President, Operations.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 8+ years progressive management level operational experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of supply chain logistics processes including distribution requirements planning, transportation and logistics planning, inventory control, inventory management, and demand planning.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods distribution experience.
  • Proven ability to execute high complexity projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to build cross-functional partnerships, engage in and lead cross-functional teams and initiatives.
  • Strong ability to develop and deploy quantitative analysis for business improvement; track record of KPI-driven and data-driven leadership.
  • Comprehensive business process and systems knowledge, and the ability to identify and implement best practices.
  • Transformative change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders.
  • A strong track record of talent recognition and development- finding and building future leaders for the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Blue Yonder WMS a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
