Albert Uster Imports, Inc. (“AUI”) is a privately held gourmet food company headquartered in the Washington, DC area (Gaithersburg, MD) with warehouse locations in Kansas City, Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Gaithersburg. ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Product Innovation Associate (PIA) is responsible for completing specific tasks related to new product launches initiatives as well as assisting managing the current product portfolio for AUI Fine Foods. The PIA’s duties may include pricing calculations, item set-up, product information updates, marketing flyers reviews for accuracy and technical support to sales representatives and customers.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes product launches from beginning to completion of projects including but not limited to communicating with assigned suppliers/vendors, evaluating viability and commercialization of products, and maintaining active communication with international & domestic suppliers.
  • Coordinates with the Culinary, Quality Assurance and Purchasing teams for product evaluation & approval, and supply chain continuity.
  • Manages product sourcing projects through customer requests including, customization, SOS, large customer product development with supplier.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Culinary Degree in Pastry, BS Food Science, or related field required
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in food product development and/or project management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Highly organized, attention to detail with strong communication skills 
  • Effective collaborator across departments at all levels
