ABOUT THE ROLE

Roland Foods is seeking an energetic, personable, and highly organized individual to fill a hybrid role that touches all facets of the organization. The Front Desk Associate will fulfill administrative and facilities functions, such as processing mail, answering telephone calls, and maintaining the office spaces.  Additionally, this individual will support the People & Culture Specialist in the production of employee engagement events. The Front Desk Associate will also have administrative assistant duties, supporting the Chief Executive Officer and other executives.  A self-starter with a can-do attitude and a passion for food will find this position challenging, fun, and rewarding.

This is a full-time role that reports to the People & Culture Specialist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the overall operations of our New York Office to ensure the best experience for employees, guests, candidates and vendors.
  • Ensure team members are comfortable, the office & kitchen are stocked, the coffee is brewed, visitors are greeted, and that all events in the office are a success.
  • Execute a broad range of office duties in a fast-paced environment, driving procedures as well as positively influencing our company culture.
  • Work closely with IT to ensure all technology in the office is up and running smoothly at all times including new hire desk set up.
  • Act as the main point of contact with all support vendors including building management, cleaning services, etc.
  • Staff the reception desk, greet visitors and support with visitor related logistics.
  • Attend to the administrative needs of the executive team, including booking travel.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 1-2 years previous administrative or service industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Impeccable attention to detail, superior judgement, strong time management skills and follow-through even in sometimes ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate needs (i.e. inventory, conference room conflicts, office servicing and disinfecting, front desk coverage, when needed) throughout the day to adapt to a fluid work environment.
  • Keen eye for spotting problems and inefficiencies and finding elegant solutions to them before they become major issues.
  • A passion for food and people!
