ROLE DESCRIPTION

AUI is seeking a Division Controller. The Division Controller is primarily responsible for directing the company’s accounting activities in alignment with corporate strategy, established financial principles and government regulations. In addition, this role is responsible for proactively coordinating all financial operations activities, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and management reporting. 

This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller of Roland Foods.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•Manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries prepared by staff, preparing accruals and reserve support, and ensuring the general ledger is complete, materially accurate, and closed timely and in accordance with internal and external reporting requirements

•Ensure timely and accurate reporting of operating results and financial position in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

•Review and participate in the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring accounts are reconciled timely and reconciling items are addressed appropriately

•Oversee and direct accounting department, including treasury, cash application, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable while promoting process efficiencies and ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and reporting requirements

•Coordinate external audits and tax filings of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and local, state, and federal statutes. 

•Prepare ad-hoc analysis as needed by management

•Identify and resolve process / system inefficiencies and drive process improvements while ensuring a strong system of internal controls

•Hire, manage, motivate, coach, and formally evaluate the performance of all direct reports

•Establish strong relationships with intra-company peers and be the "go-to" accounting resource in the Company


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including prior experience as a Controller or similar position within a $50+ million revenue, entrepreneurial, high-growth organization; 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

•Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting

•Proficiency with MS Dynamics/GP or similar ERP System

•Prior inventory experience

•Experience leading, managing, and developing accounting teams

•Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, with outstanding attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with, manage, motivate, and support the team’s staff
