Job Description

The Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy & Development is a new position at Roland Foods that will work on the most challenging and impactful initiatives at the company.  This role will run the gamut of corporate strategy activities, from evaluating strategic corporate development activities such as acquisitions or external partnerships, to internal process redesign driving improved productivity.  It requires an individual with a well-rounded skill set in analytics, financial acumen, problem-solving and executive communication.  A high-visibility and high-stakes role, it requires an individual who can be both a strategic thought partner with Roland Foods’ Executive Team, but also dig in the weeds of the company’s data and processes to create actionable insights and feasible solutions.  The role is designed for an ambitious, intellectually curious individual, as it will get exposure to almost all business functions and learn the end-to-end mechanics of the company.  This position will sit in Roland Foods’ Strategy team, reporting to the Vice President of Strategy & Commercial Operations.

Responsibilities

Identify and execute transformational projects in partnership with Roland Foods’ leadership team and functional leaders

o   Conduct diagnostic on problem to identify scope and scale

o   Partner with stakeholders to design solutions and plan implementation

o   Project manage key workstreams of initiatives to ensure outstanding execution

o   Report out on key milestones and impact KPIs to the Executive Team

- Maintain Roland Foods’ strategic roadmap for transformational projects: growth levers, cost savings initiatives, and organizational capability development

Lead analysis and evaluation of corporate development opportunities, including acquisition targets, joint venture opportunities or other external partnerships

o   Build data models and tools to enable quick but comprehensive analysis of opportunities, and their impact to Roland Foods’ financial metrics and valuation

o   Identify and quantify synergies with acquisition targets

Further the company’s knowledge base on the broader market by identifying, accessing and institutionalizing new data sources on industry performance and competitive intelligence

Support development of executive-level presentations to update the Sponsors and Board of Directors on key strategic initiatives

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a focus in Business Management

 4-5 years of experience in a highly analytical, strategic role; 2+ years experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy/finance required

 Financial modeling experience required; experience in M&A due diligence and valuation preferred

• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required; proficiency in Tableau preferred

• Data-driven decision maker, with tangible experience building advanced analytical models that were used for key decision making

 Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with a track record of presenting analysis in front of senior audiences

• Organized, detail-oriented with strong writing skills

• Previous experience in the food or foodservice industry a bonus
