Optometrists Needed for Proctoring

NBEO Part III Clinical Skills Examination

The National Board of Examiners in Optometry® is looking for optometrists in the Charlotte, NC, area to serve as In-House Examiners (IHEs). IHEs are responsible for grading candidates for optometric licensure during their Station 2 skills testing (Biomicroscopy, Tonometry, Gonioscopy, Collagen plug, and Contact Lens Insertion/Evaluation/Removal) and ensuring patient safety. This position allows you to participate in regulatory and professional peer review, give back to the optometric community, network with local optometrists, and supplement your income.

Eligibility: You must be a licensed optometrist with three years of clinical experience post-graduation. Additionally, you must be able to commit to proctoring two exams per month. Hours: This part-time position facilitates your participation and accommodates your schedule. We have a maximum of 3 sessions per day, Monday – Saturday, with the first session running from 8:30 -1 1:30 am, the second session from 11:45 am - 2:45 pm, and the third session from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Each exam consists of grading up to 4 candidates.

Compensation: An honorarium of $250 per exam session and paid parking.
