Greenprint Partners is seeking an Assistant Program Manager / Sustainability Specialist based in the Seattle area to join the Greenprint team. This is an exciting opportunity to support a growing portfolio of community-centered, climate-resilient infrastructure programs for public sector clients in the Pacific Northwest (including clients such as King County Wastewater Treatment Division). This position reports to the Climate Resilience Program Manager, Katie Harris. The ideal candidate brings a passion for working at the intersection of sustainability and equity; is a strategic thinker who can create structure out of ambiguity; and is an experienced project and relationship manager who can develop and lead complex programs while engaging multiple stakeholders with competing priorities. The Assistant Program Manager will play a pivotal role in assisting Program Managers in various aspects of program development, implementation, and management. Our Seattle office is currently a remote office, so for the foreseeable future this is a work-from-home position with regular in-person engagement for project work and team meetings. Candidates must be based in the Seattle area.

General responsibilities:
In this role, you can expect to…

Collaborate with the Program Manager to effectively manage project daily work on behalf of public sector clients, translating a scope of work and client requests into high-quality deliverables;
-
Translate public sector initiatives and policies related to equity, sustainability, climate, energy, and green building), into clear sustainability into program/project outcomes;
-
Develop and propose decision-making methodologies to guide decisions and investments in sustainability and resilience measures to achieve goals and manage risk;
-
Offer subject matter expertise on future climate conditions, and interpretation of climate models to guide recommendations and team decision-making in the face of uncertainty;
-
Guide strategies and plans to manage risk associated with changes in precipitation, heat, groundwater, sea level rise, air quality, and more;
-
Guide and advise teams through the process of applying the Envision Framework and similar sustainability frameworks to water infrastructure projects;
-
Plan and facilitate meetings with multidisciplinary teams, including program managers, engineers, sustainability planners, and climate modelers to inform, engage, collaborate, problem-solve, and make decisions;
-
Support the development of equity and social justice strategies and plans that meet program goals, community priorities, and are rate fund eligible;
-
Support various aspects of program development, launch, and management, including project scope development, contract management, team coordination, budget management, and client and stakeholder engagement;
-
Help manage client expectations, satisfaction, and communications, and assist in resolving project-related issues;
-
Prepare and deliver clear and concise memos, reports, presentations, and other deliverables to clients, community groups and stakeholders; and
-
Actively engage in new client relationship cultivation and assist in the development of proposals for relevant pursuits.
While your work and project portfolio will evolve over time as you grow professionally and as Greenprint grows as a company, during the first year you can expect to primarily focus on delivering the following work for major public water quality infrastructure projects.

Supporting strong project management for the launch of a major water infrastructure program.
Desired Experience and Characteristics

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as: sustainable urban development, climate mitigation and adaptation, urban planning, transportation, water, energy efficiency, public program management, or other related fields;

Proficiency with Envision (or similar) sustainability frameworks for infrastructure and either be Envision certified or be willing/able to become certified within the first 90 days of beginning the position;
-
Demonstrated excellence and integrity in equity and environmental justice, stakeholder engagement, and frontline community partnerships, and navigating diverse stakeholder perspectives and priorities;

Strong project management skills, including the ability to effectively develop project plans, manage budgets, oversee project teams, and meet or exceed client expectations;

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions;

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders, community-based organizations and residents;

Proficiency in project management software and tools;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience; and

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and in a team.

Work Environment & Required Travel

As a remote employee, you will be responsible for providing your own home office space and high speed internet.

This role requires local travel around the Seattle area and schedule flexibility for occasional (1-2) evening and weekend community meetings each month.

As Greenprint grows, this role may expand to support projects across the Pacific Northwest that may require occasional travel for onsite project work or community meetings. Additional national travel to the Chicago headquarters and for relevant conference participation is anticipated at least semi-annually.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for this position will be based on experience and qualifications and ranges from $78,750 - $115,500. In addition to base salary, all Greenprint staff participate in our annual discretionary profit-sharing program.
