Greenprint Partners is seeking a Community-Centered Climate Resilience Program Manager based in the San Diego area to join the Greenprint team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a growing portfolio of community-centered climate resilient infrastructure programs for municipal and non-profit clients both locally and state-wide while also contributing to Greenprint’s national field-building work. This is a 100% remote position that reports to the CEO and joins a team that is headquartered in Chicago with remote offices in Seattle, Minneapolis and Milwaukee. This is our first hire in San Diego to support our growing portfolio of work with public jurisdictions in San Diego and local non-profits, and we are excited for this role to play a key part in delivering and growing our portfolio of projects and programs in Southern California. The ideal candidate brings a passion for working at the intersection of climate resilience and equity, is a strategic thinker who can create structure out of ambiguity, is grounded in best practice public participation and community empowerment strategies, and is an experienced project and relationship manager who can develop and lead complex programs while engaging multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.

General responsibilities:
In this role, you can expect to…
Lead the strategic planning, development and implementation of community-driven climate resilience strategies and programs for government and nonprofit clients
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, landscape architects, urban planners, communications professionals and more to develop integrated climate resilience solutions
Oversee all aspects of program development, launch and management, including:
Developing project scopes, contract management plans, and resource loaded schedules
Building and managing dynamic, cross-disciplinary project teams, including sub consultants and suppliers
Creating and managing project budgets
Developing, managing, and fostering partnerships with project partners, community groups, and other industry affiliates/stakeholders
Managing client expectations, satisfaction, communications, and resolving and/or escalating client issues
Adaptively managing program delivery to stay on track with project schedules, budgets, and the expectations of client, partner and community
Developing innovative and creative solutions to new issues, policies, funding programs, and/or market dynamics
Conduct community outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness and build support for climate resilience initiatives
Support the preparation of grant applications to secure funding for climate resilience projects
Prepare and deliver clear and concise reports, presentations, and other deliverables to clients, community groups and stakeholders
Provide mentorship and support for junior staff, including delegating tasks with clear guidance, reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity, and providing constructive feedback and career development guidance while working on projects together
Proactively cultivate new client relationships and develop proposals for relevant pursuits, including building teams, preparing scopes and budgets and writing proposal narratives
Help envision and implement new approaches to advancing equitable climate resiliency projects and programs
While your work and project portfolio will evolve over time as you grow professionally and as Greenprint grows as a company, during the first year you can expect to lead projects and initiatives such as:
Supporting a local government body in San Diego in delivering a community-centered green stormwater infrastructure program, by leading the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategies, community benefits rich opportunity analysis and prioritization, direct engagement with and project management for institutional landowners who wish to integrate green infrastructure on their properties, and supplemental funding pursuits to amplify program and project benefits
Supporting a local community-based organization in developing a watershed-wide green stormwater infrastructure plan that is community-led and multi-benefit in nature
Helping manage a pilot residential green infrastructure grant program in San Francisco
Desired Experience and Characteristics
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in areas such as: sustainable urban development, landscape architecture, climate mitigation and adaptation, urban planning, community organizing, transportation, water, energy efficiency, public program management, or other related fields
Demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to effectively develop project plans, manage budgets, oversee project teams and meet or exceed client expectations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders, community-based organizations and residents
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and in a team

Work Environment & Required Travel
As a remote employee, you will be responsible for providing your own home office space and high speed internet.
This role requires local travel across the entire San Diego County and schedule flexibility for occasional (1-2) evening and weekend community meetings each month.
As Greenprint grows, this role may expand to support projects across the State of California that may require occasional travel for onsite project work or community meetings. Additional national travel to the home office and for relevant conference participation is anticipated at minimum semi-annually.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for this position will be based on experience and qualifications and ranges from $102,000 - $138,000, with the opportunity for additional compensation through bonuses and profit sharing.
