Virtual Family Support Specialist

- Fatherhood Focus

Hand to Hold is a national non-profit providing NICU family support.  This position provides peer psycho-social support and education for NICU families, specifically fathers, in the organization’s virtual settings.  Leaning on their own personal experience as a NICU father and specific peer support training, the Virtual Family Support Specialist is responsible for supporting NICU fathers virtually in either one-on-one or in group settings, all with a goal to reduce the negative impact of a NICU stay and ensure the best outcome for the entire family.

The Virtual Family Support Specialist must demonstrate an empathetic personality combined with a dynamic professional attitude to convey Hand to Hold’s mission and values on behalf of the entire organization.  A high degree of competence or expertise in using technology is essential as communication with families is primarily performed virtually through various platforms and there are essential data entry and reporting requirements to supervisors for program evaluation.

This is a multi-faceted role that requires a person who is energetic, proactive, and motivated; a proven self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment consistently produces high-quality work, turns tasks around quickly, and communicates effectively. This position plays a role in a variety of Hand to Hold programs in order to extend services to the maximum number of NICU fathers possible.
