POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Reimbursement & Patient Support Services is responsible for developing patient support services strategy to Day One’s first commercialized product in pLGG (pediatric low grade glioma). He/she will manage Day One’s third-party patient services vendors, collaborate with cross functional partners to find appropriate access solutions for patients, and lead the reimbursement field team.
This position has the potential to be fully remote. Occasional travel may be required for in - person meetings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop patient support services strategy and reimbursement field team goals to ensure timely product access to appropriate patients
- Develop and execute patient support services and related call center protocols
- Lead, coach and support a team of field reimbursement managers
- Develop MBOs and tracking mechanism to support post launch commercial objectives
- Partner with field teams to ensure appropriate and timely access to Day One’s product
- Collaborate with the Clinical Team to provide operational process support to transition appropriate patients to commercial product
- Define goals, negotiate contracts and manage activities of any external vendor to ensure the scope, quality and cost associated with any patient support services are within budget and in compliance with Day One’s policies, OIG guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
- A desire to be part of a highly innovative company aimed at transforming the lives of children
- B.A./B.S. degree or higher, with minimum 7-10+ years’ experience managing patient support services within the biotech industry or HUB call center / operations, and front line field management experience
- Launch experience is a must. Oncology or rare disease experience is preferred
- Knowledge and experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer policies, reimbursement processes, health policy, coverage, payment, coding, and Specialty Pharmacy processes
- Track record of successfully managing and leading vendor relationships from both a strategic and operational perspective and achieving results
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance requirements, patient confidentiality (HIPAA regulations), product reimbursement and product access
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization; possessing a persuasive and credible presentation style
- Self starter, detail-oriented, organized; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
