POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Director, Financial is accountable for managing all budgeting and forecasting, including key forward-looking financial metrics.  It is anticipated this individual will play a key role in interaction with senior management in helping analyze business activity and make recommendations for efficient uses of capital. 

This position has the potential to be fully remote. Occasional travel may be required for in person meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following:
  •        Directing the corporate FP&A function, including leading preparation of the annual financial budget and financial forecasts
  •      Develop, implement and maintain effective planning and analysis capabilities that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the business
  •       Create, analyze and publish weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and ensure accuracy of cross­ functional data.
  •      Partner with Program Managers, Project Teams and Functional Area Heads to develop staffing and operational expense forecasts and update monthly
  •      Review and analyze budgets to ensure budget compliance and minimize risk
  •      Complete the monthly and quarterly financial packages to ensure alignment on company’s financial state
  •      Financial modeling for "what- if" analysis regarding potential business decisions
  •      Analyzing complex financial data
  •     Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people and relevant technology in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information and to drive business decision making
  •      Assist in the execution of due diligence processes, if applicable
  •      Ensure integrity of the company’s financial information

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 Education/Experience: The ideal candidate will offer:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of related financial planning and analysis experience, including experience in SEC registered companies
  • Strong experience in financial analysis and a working knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·        Able to read, write and speak fluent English; excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Technical Expertise

o   An advanced understanding of corporate finance and the drug development process

o   Extensive knowledge of financial concepts, practices, and financial regulations and financial principles regarding time value of money, weighted average cost of capital, net present value; demonstrated ability to interpret and apply these guidelines to financial modeling

o   Breadth and depth of experience managing departmental budgets associated with multiple business units and across the organization  

o   Ability to apply technical and business knowledge to contribute to the strategic direction of the company

·        Teamwork and Collaboration

o   Ability to develop and leverage constructive relationships across disciplines and functions with a broad variety of people; establishes and maintains professional and productive working relationships with team members

o   High level of interpersonal, active listening, and influencing skills; ability to utilize these skills in different situations

o   Ability to apply business knowledge to effectively assess and manage/ mitigate risks to advance innovative processes and methodologies for the finance department/company.
