POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Quality Engineer will lead and implement various compliance processes and activities associated with the AS9100 Quality Management System including the Internal Audit process, Corrective and Preventive Action process (CAPA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and maintain supplier rating systems as well as quality score cards.
This position is in-person at our Miami location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead internal audit team to meet planned internal audit schedule and associated participation in 3rd-party audits as required.
· Manage supplier qualification, AVL maintenance, auditing, and corrective action execution.
· Perform supply chain evaluations to ensure suppliers are meeting OTD and quality requirements and perform supplier audits when required.
· Interface with supplier quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and ensure that effective corrective action is implemented when requirements are not being met.
· Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and update supplier score cards.
· Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators, including update metrics and score cards.
· Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource for guidance on root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and the monitoring of the identification, resolution, effectiveness, and the documentation thereof, by CAPA process.
· Assist in developing and implementing methods for process control and continuous process improvement.
· Participate in Kaizen events.
· Report to management on quality issues, trends, and risk assessment.
· Serve as member of the Material and Quality Review Boards (MRB/QRB)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:
· Minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Management position.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in AS9100 standard
· AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
· Broad knowledge of theory and process control methods and techniques. (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt a plus)
· Must be able to liaise and communicate effectively with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.
· Ability to engage the interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with team members.
